Guidelines
Film Impact Georgia will cover the cost of room, board, and other required ancillaries as designated by Film Impact Georgia for four (4) chosen participants. Out-of-state travel will not be covered. Some limited in-state travel maybe covered by Film Impact Georgia, but is not guaranteed.
Film Impact Georgia will be diligent in ensuring the development lab is accessible for all chosen applicants and mentors in terms of choosing venues, services provided, and program outline. This includes physical, mental, and emotional access. If any accommodations will create an undue hardship for Film Impact Georgia or the development lab, that will be clearly communicated with the participant(s) to find alternatives.
Film Impact Georgia may contact the applicant with questions about their script and submission.
As dates may shift due to mentor and venue availability, chosen participants must be available to attend the lab over a three-day weekend in October or November 2023.
Applicants and chosen participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Film Impact Georgia and its sub-contractors against all liabilities and claims, costs, and expenses that may incur outside of what is expressly stipulated and offered by Film Impact Georgia in the performance of these services.
Film Impact Georgia will make all efforts to discuss the chosen participants’ needs and work with the mentors to craft a program that will serve all participants. No one participant will be prioritized over another.
Film Impact Georgia reserves the right at any time during the process to disqualify an applicant at their discretion with no explanation. In the event that the project is prevented by force majeure, physical disability, or any cause beyond reasonable control, the contractor and Film Impact Georgia shall be relieved of their responsibilities as outlined above.
Film Impact Georgia will internally review all submissions and will make final selections. Similar to its Filmmaker Grant, Film Impact Georgia may use authorized judges to make final selections.
Film Impact Georgia staff, board members, and their immediate families are ineligible from submitting projects to the development lab. Projects that have significant material involvement and support by staff or board members are also ineligible. It is incumbent on applicants to notify Film Impact Georgia of any potential conflicts as soon as they are aware of them. If an applicant is unclear if a conflict exists, Film Impact Georgia encourages them to contact us to immediately review the situation.
